Following In Their Footsteps

Today I had the opportunity to "follow in the footsteps" of Lori and Marinda on some retarded dirt road with the COLD wind blowing in my face. I had a lot of time to think about footsteps. I pretty much figured out that I was taking 3 (yes I said three) steps to their ONE. I tried at different times to "lengthen my stride" so I could match my steps with theirs but I just couldn't do it:) I don't mind "following" these amazing ladies - they always come back and check on me, leave me with encouraging words and then take off again and I'm thankful for that:)

So if you ever find yourself following, don't get discouraged it's the finishing that counts!!!!!
Happy Training!!!!

28 days! Are you kidding me?

Seriously? We only have 28 days to train? Take away all the Sundays and that only leaves 24. Take away the week before in which we will taper off in preparation and now we are down to 17. Lose a few traveling during spring break-down to 14. Minus a few days for bad weather/too sore or tired/injury recuperation/sick kids/chaotic schedules, etc. ---9 days. And just think--if you only run five days a week instead of six there goes another few. Well my friends! Being as i only have 6 days to train, i guess i better stop blogging and start running!! :)

Love to you all! Cannot wait to see you!!!! Ready or not--here we come!!!!

whose idea was this anyway?

The closer this thing gets the more nervous I become....I seriously wonder if Lori was truly 'inspired' when she came to my house a few months back telling me she had been 'inspired' to ask me to do this race. I wouldn't ever let her know this...but I really am grateful that she thinks she was 'inspired'...cause this race has given me something to look forward to, and to push myself beyond what I ever thought I would ever be capable of doing. Today, down here in Safford, I ran 5 miles in 66 minutes...making that an average of a 13.20 minute mile. Now I know that doesn't even compare to the other runners on our team, but for me...that puts a smile on my face!!!

Time is Creeping

I can't believe it isn't here yet. I am so sick of waiting. I ran with Kelli and Shawna yesterday and they are doing great. Shawna is going to cruise through her runs like nothing. Kelli I going to impress everyong including herself. I can't believe how good she is doing with as little as she has been able to train. I am so excited I can hardly wait. I wish the training was over and the race was here already.

Start Time

We have our start time 6:30 A.M. I am really excited I think it will be so pretty and I hope it is beautiful weather.

It's Almost Here

I am so excited for this race. It is going to be so much fun. I should have started this blog sooner because it is so fun to train together on the blog. It is a good way to share info about the race or ask questions. So post anything you would like. Lori and I will let you know if there are any up dates.
